International audience. This paper presents the use of the smart city solution for the protection of urban biodiversity. This biodiversity is crucial for human wellbeing and sustainable development. The paper presents first the urban biodiversity, then the risk of its deterioration by urban activity (change in land-use; pollution of air, soil and water; noise pollution; light pollution; alien species; construction, flood). Finally, the paper presents briefly the Smart City solution including data collection, data analysis and reporting and control and how this solution could be used for the protection of biodiversity.
